Relaxation after Guitar Practice

Relaxation after Guitar Practice

Maybe after a long period of practice, you might feel satisfied but at the same time exhausted. But after that, you might think that it is not enough and you plan to continue on with what you are practicing until you are burned out. This is not a good practice at all. Remember, you are only human, and humans get tired. Even machines get drained. So be sensitive and have some sense on you to make you wake up to the fact that you need breaks after practice. It has a much greater effect too if you do that.

Relaxation After Guitar Practice – What you will avoid when you do this

If you take breaks between practice sessions, and I mean not just an hour break but also a day or two breaks to rest your hands, you would get benefits that you never thought possible. One benefit is that after taking a break, you become better on what you were doing previously or what you were practicing previously. This is because taking a break gives your brain some room and time to process that information or that skill you were practicing. That is why it seems that you can do it better after taking a break. Another benefit is that you would be avoiding repetitive motion injury. It’s an injury you get with too much motion on your fingers. Giving you a break removes that risk.

Relaxation after Guitar Practice – Conclusion

So after a long practice session, give yourself a break. An hour or two is not that bad. Besides, it’s not slacking off. You are simply giving yourself room to process that skill and also giving yourself a favor by taking care of your hands and your whole body as well. The last thing you would want is some hand injury. So put it in mind, relaxation after guitar practice is important.

Brit Pop Front Man Commits Suicide at Showv

What an awful way to end his life. The lead vocals and front man of the band Our Est Le Swimming Pool died after climbing a telecommunication tower at the back of the stage and jumped to his death down the parking lot, live, at a rock festival in Belgium on august the 201th year 2010. Charles Haddon, 22, died instantly and police findings say it is suicide indeed, not an accident. The Festival organizers was said to have been notified the family of Haddon. He is only 22 years old and the reason behind this is unknown.

My thoughts on this: suicide is never the answer. You have no right to take your own life, it is not yours to take. It is very common amongst musician to commit suicide but not like this. In front of a whole crowd, while you are performing. This is epic in horrifying proportions. I wish there would be lesser cases. Some say he is on drugs and maybe that was a result of the drug’s feeling of high, made him feel that he can fly. We don’t know, we weren’t the ones feeling the exact feelings.

Want Success?

Do you want success in whatever you do? That is a stupid question, I mean, who doesn’t want to be successful in their stuff. Especially in playing the guitar, everybody wants to get there, to that place of guitar maturity. But to tell you frankly, not everyone could get there, I mean, everyone could try, but not everyone has the guts to push through. There are lots of things to consider if you want to be successful in your guitar playing. So if you want to know what those things are, you have to listen closely.

It is not hard to be good at playing the guitar if you are really determined. It’s all about configuring the mind and thinking the right way, then the hard practice wouldn’t be hard anymore. You should have a sufficient amount of DEDICATION. You should have that, dedicate part of your time to guitar practice. You need to sacrifice some things in your life in order to be good in playing the guitar like for example, the hours that you should have spent playing video games should be lessen or totally replaced by hours of guitar practice. That is how it is, practice is very important for you to improve.

SLIDE TECHNIQUE

Knowing a lot of guitar techniques is an advantage, especially when you are a beginner.  Practicing various techniques would boost up your guitar performance in your skills.  This is one way of getting there, because techniques are proven to enhance different aspects of your guitar playing, therefore, improving your guitar skills as a whole.  If you are a beginner guitar player, you should know that knowing how to execute different guitar techniques is your key to becoming an excellent guitar player in the future.  Although you could not learn all guitar techniques at once because each technique has their own levels of difficulty and should not be digested in one go, you can start up with learning guitar technique one by one.  Like for example the slide guitar technique.  This technique is guaranteed to get more life in  your guitar playing especially in your soloing techniques.  Slides are used if you want to go from a note to a note without taking the pressure off your fingers as you move.  All you have to do slide it up or down to the next note creating a smooth prolonged transition between two or more notes.  Start slowly and then once you master it you can move one to the next one.

HOW SHOULD YOU HANDLE SUCCESS

Just in case you become successful in your guitar career or as a band, you know how to handle it?  Just in case you don’t know here are some tips that would help you to handle success.

Always keep in your mind that there is definitely someone else better than you.  Although this is true, this is very important because this will keep you humble.  It is very important to keep your feet on the ground.  Remember that anyone can make it.  Your goal should be to maximize your porch and eighties, minimize your weaknesses, and maintain it.  Stop bragging about your accomplishments, focus on your music.  Learn how to be thankful with everything that you receive or everything that would happen to you.  Celebrate your success whether it is big or small, no matter how insignificant it is, each of your success must be celebrated.  Do not choke; choking is an emotional reaction to success.  Expressed gratitude for each small success in admit that the success came because you step into the arena and did everything that you could and not because of luck.  Not become complacent and learn from your success.  Life is short so enjoy every possible opportunity that you need to enjoy.

THE POWER OF RECORDING

It is always a very smart thing to do to keep a handy portable recorder with you anywhere you go.  And technology has made it more possible for you because of most mobile phones today have recording capabilities.  Why should you bring a recorder with you?  I am just only assuming that you are songwriter or a guitar player, it’s very much important for you to do so because you never know when a good melody or a good riff would come to you.  You couldn’t just always remember it in your head so why not record it.  Recording is not only good for music is also very helpful and remembering things like your thoughts on something or just any random thing at all that you need to remember.

Another good use of recording is when you’re just playing your guitar, practicing your routine.  Try a recording your practice, this way, you would easily pinpoint your mistakes and you would be able to correct it.  And correcting it means that you’re improving your guitar playing.  This way, you would definitely teach our master the guitar faster than the normal way of mastering it.  Besides, that’s what technology is for.

THE POWER OF MUSIC

Remember to time when john Lennon led the whole world to sing “give peace a chance” and the world happily sang along?  That is a perfect example of how powerful music is.  But songs like that don’t come regularly like your daily newspaper.  They are created out of consciousness or conscience.  A powerful song would stay in the hearts of people as long as they live.  And even after they die, they’ll be gone but the music stays with us.  That is why; fallen musicians and artists are made immortal through the art and legacy that they left to us.  We might forget their names through time but the songs will stay in our hearts and in our minds.

Believe it or not, music is capable of changing minds.  It can move mountains, it could command and control, it could forgive and forget.  Music has a big influence on our lives, it is as important as the blood that runs through our veins.  Imagine the world without music or without any art, it’s like imagining the world about emotions or without people.  The world cannot turn without music and people cannot live or breathe without it.  You might think that I’m talking too much but this is reality.

THE EQUIPMENTS THAT YOU NEED

When performing on stage, there is nothing worse than being not ready in terms of equipments.  So for your benefit, we have compiled the necessary equipments that you need when performing on stage.  So be ready and be alert while I explain to you and tell you what the need when performing on stage.

  1. Extra guitar strings- you will never know when your strings will give up on you.  What if it does while you were performing?  So, it is always better and to bring an extra pair of strings just in case crap happens.
  2. Extra guitar- brings extra guitars very much useful for a lot of things.  You can use it to change tunings.  Or use it when a guitar has a string broken.  Either way, you could use it as a substitute.
  3. Extra cord- it is also smart move to bring as many cords as you can.  It the most unfortunate happens, you have back up.

The important thing is in the whole idea behind this, is you should always bring a back up of everything.  Something to substitute malfunctioning ones or you broken one.  By doing so, you’re ensuring yourself a smooth – flowing performance.

SONG WRITING

Have you ever experience mental block when writing a song?  This is a common problem for most songwriters because not all of the time they’re inspired to write a song.  Not all that time, a new idea pops up inside of their heads.  Sometimes, there are days when they simply couldn’t think of anything at all.  You wish there is a solution to this?  If you sum it all up, it’s all about the inspiration.  If the inspiration is not there, fear is simply nothing to write about.  The good news is, you could actually go grab or extract something from anything that you could even get an inspiration from it.  Yes, this is absolutely true.

You must always think that there are no rules in songwriting and you could always sing about anything under the sun.  A good song could come up anytime and from anywhere.  It can be built around a make or a riff or chord even from anything.  Consider this as a challenge for you.  Let me share to you a tip.  Try and looking around you and if you notice something even if it is not significant, write something about it.  And if it doesn’t mean anything, add metaphors and adjectives that could make it significant.

HALF STEP BENDS

Guitar techniques are the tools that you need to master for you to be able to improve your guitar playing skills. These skills are the weapons that you would use when playing guitar solo or any guitar riffs. If you make use of it and maximize its utilization, you can be able to pull of solos in epic proportions. That is if you have the patience to master it. Some techniques are simple and easy, others are difficult. But if you hook up all these techniques into a combo, you would find yourself a powerful riff or solo. If you know how to use it.

Half step bends are guitar techniques that allow you to hit a half – note higher by bending it slightly up or down. Half steps mean a fret higher. One fret high or low is called a half step. Two frets are whole steps. So, for you to be able to do a half step bend, you should use your ring finger to bend the string and your index and middle finger, to support the ring finger. Once you get into position, place your ring finger on the desired fret and string in which you would perform a half step bend, and then, bend it slightly upwards until your reach the note on the next fret. That’s it.
