1. Jimi Hendrix – one of the most influential and most creative guitar player of the 20^th century, he was the first to showcase the unlimited explosive possibilities of electrical guitar playing. He was so good at manipulating and controlling fuzz, feedback and distortion. He influenced a lot of modern day guitar virtuoso.
2. Eddie Van Halen – “falling down the stairs and landing on my feet” that is how he describes his guitar playing. He has changed the face of guitar playing because of his heavy guitar playing and dare devilish antics and exhibitions on his guitar. Most popular of all is his right hand tapping technique.
3. Eric Clapton – Slow Hands, as he was popularly known. He has been the most influential guitar player of all time, being able to cope up with different tactics in different scenarios. When he was 20 years old, he was already a legend. He has placed blues on the mainstream level. He is one artist that knows how to grow up.
4. Pete Townsend – he was popular for violently shoving his guitar on his marshal stacks after performing. He is a capable song writer and an amazing guitar player.
